Kate Dougherty is a junior High Honors Student at Ridgefield High School. This is her first year with Ms President US and she is very excited to see the impact that the program will have on young girls. This is not her first time working with children as she has been a volunteer camp counselor at Vacation Bible School (VBS) and at the Ridgefield Parks and Rec summer camp. Kate has been a Role Model Mentor: she works one on one with her mentee, forming lasting bonds and providing guidance in academic ways. She is the Public Relations officer of the Interact community service club and an active member of RPS Friends, both organizations at the High School. Kate has been a Girl Scout for more than ten years and achieved a Bronze, Community Service bar and Presidential Award; and is currently planning to pursue her Gold Award as well. In the spring, she is a sprinter on the Track team. Kate is greatly looking forward to guiding the girls to understand the effect that they can have on their community.
