Gian-Carlo Peressutti is Vice President, Global Communications at PepsiCo. In this capacity, he is executing the company’s first ever worldwide corporate marketing campaign in addition to managing PepsiCo’s external engagement program to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and thought leaders.
Prior to joining PepsiCo, Gian-Carlo was Senior Vice President of Public Affairs for RR Donnelley, the world’s premier full-service provider of print and integrated communications. There, he managed the corporation’s public and government affairs strategies at the international, federal, state & local levels. Before RR Donnelley, he was Director of Government Relations for CGI – a leading information technology company. In 2002, Peressutti left government service to join Dutko Worldwide, a comprehensive public affairs management firm. As Senior Associate there, Gian-Carlo opened a Tri-State Area office to focus on business development in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
While in government, Gian-Carlo Peressutti was Associate Director in the White House Office of Public Liaison for President George W. Bush. Reporting to the Senior Advisor to The President, Karl Rove, Peressutti was responsible for managing relationships between The White House and the financial services, insurance, healthcare, and transportation industries. In addition, he was the White House’s point of contact for the education, disability and Italian-American communities. His experience working with leaders of these industries, understanding their issues, briefing the President and, in turn, building coalitions among the private sector and federal agencies is integral to his work in the field of public affairs.
Following a campaign position with Congressman Christopher Shays in the 1996 elections, Gian-Carlo served as Personal Aide and Press Secretary to former President George H. W. Bush from 1996 to 2000. Accompanying the former President on all of his travel, he visited over 35 foreign countries and most of the 50 states while acting as President Bush’s liaison with foreign governments including Heads of State, corporations, host organizations, media, United States Secret Service and American Embassies. Peressutti also acted as the former President’s primary media contact and spokesman to print, radio and television outlets both foreign and domestic.
A graduate of Georgetown University and Choate Rosemary Hall, Gian-Carlo Peressutti was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Development Authority and was elected to serve on the Board of the Direct Marketing Association and the Illinois Chamber of Commerce. He is currently on the Board of Advisors for the George Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University and is a political commentator for several national cable television outlets.
Gian-Carlo lives in Ridgefield, Connecticut with his wife and two daughters.
